This is a versatile paint brush for watercolor or acrylic paints to do both fine work or cover larger areas, makes great tree leaves, flowers, clouds and loose or tight work.Fantastic brush for thick and thin lines as well as interesting shaped strokes. I went looking for a dagger brush after watching urban sketcher and fantastic workshop instructor, Liz Steel, use hers. This is a great brush for the price. It holds a good amount of water, and points nicely even when well loaded, so I was able to create both thick and thin lines.It doesn’t carry quite as much pigment/water as my similarly sized sable brush, but that is generally to be expected with a synthetic hair brush. I painted my tulips entirely with this brush, including the fine lines. I bought this as my travel brush - I wrap the bristles securely with a post-it note, then secure that with electrical tape. The brush has already gone on two longish trips with me, as well as numerous day trips. I love that I can bring just this brush if I’m trying to go really minimal and I still have both a larger wash brush and a fine liner.Because it’s made from synthetic fibers, I would also consider using it for acrylics, though I haven’t yet.If you found my review useful, please click the “Helpful” button below. Thanks!This brush is lovely for painting leaves etc.I am working on a very detailed oil painting of a classic and very symmetrical building on a college campus. I am not sure I could have completed the task without these wonderful brushes. They are brand new to me, but they are sure to become favorites with their tapered bristles.... perfect for getting very straight lines and even for getting in corners of window panes.Nice brushes, I can paint varying line thicknesses with them and they don’t flare out where I don’t want them to go. The angle of the cut is good for the way I work, they stay together well and make very nice thin lines. They don’t hold a whole lot of paint and it wouldn’t bother me if the bristles were 1/4 inch longer but they work fine the way they are. Very nice.These tiny dagger brushes were much better than I hoped for considering the modest price. The bristles taper nicely to a fine point and the flex is just right. I ordered two and wish I had ordered six since I use this type of brush for final detail work on my acrylic paintings. Super versatility for a minimal price.Products photo looks like brush is more substantial than it actually is.I don’t even know the ‘actual magnification’ of the brush, seems like a waste of money.What would I actually use this tiny brush for?Excellent for calligraphic writing.
